A quick and easy honey garlic glazed salmon recipe that delivers tender, flavorful fish with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Ready in under 25 minutes, it’s ideal for busy weeknights or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets, skin-on (6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 1/4 cup honey (85 grams)
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (45 ml), low-sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (15 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season lightly with black pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and minced garlic until combined.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat until shimmering. Add salmon skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until edges turn opaque and skin crisps.
  4. Flip salmon carefully and pour the honey garlic glaze into the pan around the fillets. Tilt the pan and spoon glaze over the salmon as it cooks for another 3-4 minutes until glaze bubbles and thickens.
  5. Remove salmon from pan once glaze is sticky and caramelized. Let rest for a minute, then garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking for a better sear. Avoid overcooking garlic to prevent bitterness. If glaze thickens too fast or burns, reduce heat and add a splash of water. Glaze can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 days. Use wild-caught salmon for best flavor. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
