A quick and easy sparkling blackberry mint mojito recipe that can be made with or without vodka, perfect for refreshing summer gatherings or quiet evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (75g) fresh blackberries per serving
  • 810 fresh mint leaves per drink, gently torn
  • 1 whole lime per serving, juiced fresh
  • 12 teaspoons sugar or simple syrup per drink, adjust to taste
  • 46 ounces (120180 ml) sparkling water or club soda
  • 1.5 ounces (45 ml) vodka per serving (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Muddle 8-10 fresh mint leaves and 1/2 cup (75g) blackberries gently in a mixing glass or shaker until berries release juice and mint oils start to come out, about 30 seconds. Avoid over-muddling.
  2. Add the juice of one whole lime (about 1 tablespoon or 15 ml) and 1-2 teaspoons sugar or simple syrup. Stir gently to combine and dissolve sugar, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. If using vodka, pour in 1.5 ounces (45 ml). For non-alcoholic version, skip vodka or add a splash of lemon-lime soda instead, about 30 seconds.
  4. Fill a serving glass with ice cubes. Pour the muddled mixture over the ice, about 30 seconds.
  5. Top with 4-6 ounces (120-180 ml) sparkling water or club soda. Stir gently once or twice to mix without losing fizz. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a few whole blackberries, about 1 minute.

Notes

Be gentle when muddling mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Freeze blackberries to use as ice cubes for extra cold drinks without dilution. Sugar can be substituted with natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit. For non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and add lemon-lime soda for sweetness.
