A quick and easy homemade frozen strawberry lemonade slushie recipe that is perfect for hot days, combining tart lemon juice and sweet frozen strawberries for a refreshing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (300g) frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 2 large lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or agave syrup
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups (240-360ml) ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) cold water
  • Optional: a few fresh mint leaves
  • Optional: splash of sparkling water for fizz
  • Optional: 1/4 cup (60ml) coconut milk for a creamy version

Instructions

  1. Roll the lemons firmly on the counter, cut in half, and extract about 1/2 cup (120ml) of fresh lemon juice using a juicer. Remove seeds but keep pulp if desired.
  2. Add frozen strawberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and honey or preferred sweetener into a high-speed blender.
  3. Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups (240-360ml) of ice cubes and 1/2 cup (120ml) of cold water to the blender.
  4. Pulse and blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and icy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides.
  5. If using, add a few fresh mint leaves and pulse a couple of times to distribute flavor without pureeing.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey or water as needed.
  7. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately, garnished with a lemon wheel or mint sprig if desired.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries for best icy texture. Adjust honey to taste depending on lemon tartness. Pulse blender to avoid large ice chunks. Add sparkling water just before serving for fizz. Store leftovers in airtight container in freezer and re-blend before serving.
