A bright, fruity, and tangy iced tea lemonade made with fresh peaches, black tea, and lemon juice. Ready in under 5 minutes, it’s a perfect refreshing drink for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 2 medium fresh ripe peaches, washed and sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 cups (720 ml) cold water
  • Ice cubes, as desired
  • 12 tablespoons sweetener (optional, such as honey, agave syrup, or simple syrup)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, a few sprigs for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 cups (480 ml) of water and steep the black tea bags for about 4-5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool slightly.
  2. While the tea is steeping, wash and slice 2 medium peaches. Place them in a bowl or directly into your pitcher.
  3. Using a wooden spoon or muddler, gently mash the peaches to release their juices and soften the texture, leaving some small chunks for texture.
  4. Pour in 1/4 cup (60 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice. If you like it sweeter, add 1-2 tablespoons of honey or syrup. Stir to combine.
  5. Add the brewed tea and 1 cup (240 ml) of cold water to the peach mixture. Stir well to blend all flavors.
  6. Fill glasses with ice and pour the peach iced tea lemonade over. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or strength by adding more cold water or sweetener as preferred.

Notes

Do not oversteep the tea to avoid bitterness; 4-5 minutes is ideal. Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Mashing peaches releases natural sweetness and flavor. Chill glasses beforehand to keep the drink cooler longer. The drink can be prepared ahead by brewing tea and mashing peaches separately, then combining before serving. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 24 hours and stir before serving. Reheating is not recommended.
