A quick and easy one-pan dinner featuring sticky-sweet honey garlic glazed salmon and tender roasted asparagus. Perfect for busy weeknights, this recipe delivers a delicious, crowd-pleasing meal with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 lb)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Rinse asparagus and snap off woody ends. Pat dry. On the prepared baking sheet, toss asparagus with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread in a single layer on one half of the sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. Place skin-side down on the other half of the baking sheet, leaving space between each fillet.
  5. Spoon or brush about half of the honey garlic glaze over the salmon fillets. Reserve the rest.
  6. Roast for 12-15 minutes, depending on thickness and desired doneness. For medium-rare, aim for 12 minutes; for well-done, closer to 15.
  7. About 2 minutes before salmon is done, remove pan from oven and brush remaining glaze over fillets. Return to oven to finish cooking.
  8. Check doneness: salmon should flake easily with a fork and be opaque throughout (internal temperature 125°F-130°F for medium-rare). Asparagus should be fork-tender.
  9. Let salmon rest on pan for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best results. Add half the glaze at the start and the rest in the last 2 minutes to prevent burning. Let salmon rest before serving. For thin asparagus, check at 10 minutes. Line pan for easy cleanup.
