These easy mummy hot dogs with crescent dough are the perfect Halloween snack. Ready in under 20 minutes with just three ingredients, they’re fun, foolproof, and a crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • Yellow mustard (for the eyes)
  • Optional: Cooking spray or parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls carefully. Unroll the dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforated lines. Place the triangles on a clean cutting board.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Take one hot dog and place it at one end of a dough strip. Wrap the strip around the hot dog at a slight angle, leaving small gaps so some of the hot dog shows through. Continue wrapping with more strips until the hot dog is mostly covered. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs and dough strips.
  5. Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each one. Tuck the ends of the dough strips underneath so they don’t unravel during baking.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the mummy hot dogs cool for 2-3 minutes. While still warm, use a toothpick or the tip of a knife to dot two small mustard eyes onto each mummy.
  8. Serve immediately. They’re best enjoyed warm.

Notes

Let crescent dough sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before unrolling to prevent cracking. Cut dough into 3-4 thin strips per triangle for best mummy effect. Leave gaps between strips for authentic bandaged look. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent them from baking into brown spots. For best results, serve warm. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
