This easy crockpot honey garlic chicken turns three basic ingredients into a tender, flavorful meal with a sticky sweet-salty glaze. Perfect for busy nights, it requires just five minutes of prep and delivers incredible results every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 to 5 cloves minced garlic (or 1 tablespoon pre-minced)
  • Optional: sliced green onions, sesame seeds, fresh lime juice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot. Trim excess fat if desired.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, low-sodium soy sauce, and minced garlic until combined.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, ensuring each piece is coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until chicken is fork-tender.
  5. Remove chicken from crockpot and shred with two forks on a cutting board or plate.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the crockpot, stir to coat with sauce, and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or as desired. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if using.

Notes

For thicker sauce, leave lid off for 10-15 minutes after shredding, or mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir in, then cook on high for 10 minutes. Frozen chicken can be used; increase cooking time by 1-2 hours on low. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
