This quick and easy copycat iced pumpkin chai latte tastes just like the one from that popular coffee chain, but it’s way cheaper and you can make it in under five minutes. No fancy equipment, no complicated steps—just pure, spiced, pumpkin-y goodness over ice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chai tea concentrate (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk)
  • 12 tablespoons vanilla syrup (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill a tall glass)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, pumpkin pie spice, caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or liquid measuring cup, combine 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree and 1/4 cup of the chai tea concentrate. Whisk vigorously until the pumpkin is completely smooth and incorporated into the liquid (about 30 seconds).
  2. Add 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup to the pumpkin-chai mixture. Whisk again until well combined. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice level as desired.
  3. Fill a tall glass to the top with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the pumpkin-spice mixture over the ice.
  5. Pour the remaining 3/4 cup of chai concentrate over the ice.
  6. Slowly pour 1/2 cup of milk over the back of a spoon held just above the drink to create a layered effect.
  7. Stir gently with a long spoon until the color is uniform.
  8. If desired, top with whipped cream, a dusting of pumpkin pie spice, and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the smoothest texture, make sure your pumpkin puree is at room temperature before mixing. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, mix 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg, and a pinch each of ginger and cloves. For a sugar-free version, use sugar-free vanilla syrup and unsweetened milk. If you’re out of chai concentrate, brew two chai tea bags in 1 cup of hot water for 5 minutes, then let it cool completely before using.
