Quick and easy crispy chicken and waffle sliders drizzled with a sweet and spicy maple sriracha sauce, perfect for game nights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini waffles (frozen or fresh)
  • 8 chicken tenders or strips (fried or baked; leftover chicken works perfectly)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon (14 g) melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pickles or slaw for crunch and tang

Instructions

  1. Prepare the maple sriracha sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup pure maple syrup and 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce. Taste and adjust the heat by adding more sriracha if desired. Set aside.
  2. Warm the waffles: Toast 8 mini waffles according to package instructions or bake on a 375°F (190°C) baking sheet for 5 minutes until warm and slightly crisp. Brush lightly with 1 tablespoon melted butter to enhance crispness.
  3. Heat the chicken: If using leftover fried chicken tenders, warm them in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until reheated and crispy. For raw or frozen chicken tenders, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes until cooked through and golden.
  4. Assemble the sliders: Place a warm waffle on a plate, top with a chicken tender, then drizzle generously with the maple sriracha sauce. Add optional pickles or slaw for crunch and tang. Top with another waffle to form the slider.
  5. Serve immediately: These taste best warm and crispy. Secure with a toothpick if desired for easy handling.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the skillet when heating chicken to keep the crust crisp. Brush waffles with butter immediately after toasting for maximum crispness. If the sauce is too runny, simmer briefly to thicken. Keep assembled sliders warm in a low oven (about 200°F) if serving later. For gluten-free, use gluten-free waffles and almond flour coated chicken. Adjust sriracha to control heat level.
