Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (50g) rolled oats
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk of choice
  • ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup or honey
  • Pinch of salt (about ⅛ teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In your jar or container, add ½ cup rolled oats, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 tablespoon chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir together until the protein powder is evenly distributed.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Pour in ½ cup milk of choice, ¼ cup Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, and 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey. Do not stir yet.
  3. Mix thoroughly: Use a spoon or whisk to stir everything together, scraping the bottom and sides of the jar until you have a uniform, thick mixture with no dry patches.
  4. Add any mix-ins: If using banana slices, chocolate chips, or cinnamon, fold them in now.
  5. Seal and refrigerate: Put the lid on tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, but overnight (8-12 hours) is ideal.
  6. Check the texture in the morning: Stir the oats. If too thick, add an extra tablespoon or two of milk until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  7. Top and serve: Add your favorite toppings (e.g., extra peanut butter, sliced banana, granola, chocolate chips). Eat cold or microwave for 30-45 seconds if you prefer warm oats.

Notes

Different protein powders absorb liquid differently. If using plant-based protein, start with ⅔ cup milk. Stir the mixture again 30 minutes after initial mixing for smoother texture. Don’t skip the salt—it enhances the peanut butter flavor. Use room temperature peanut butter for easier mixing.
