This creamy overnight peanut butter banana protein oats recipe is a quick, no-cook breakfast that combines rolled oats, ripe banana, peanut butter, and protein powder for a naturally sweet, pudding-like texture. Perfect for meal prep, it’s ready in 5 minutes and keeps you full all morning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (45g) rolled oats
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk (any kind)
  • ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • For topping: ½ sliced banana, 1 teaspoon peanut butter drizzle, 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana in a small bowl until mostly smooth with a few small lumps.
  2. In a mason jar or container, combine mashed banana, milk, Greek yogurt, and peanut butter. Stir until peanut butter is mostly incorporated.
  3. Add rolled oats, protein powder, and chia seeds (if using). Stir thoroughly, scraping bottom and corners.
  4. Check consistency: it should be like thin pancake batter. Adjust with extra milk or oats if needed.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, ideally 8-12 hours overnight.
  6. In the morning, stir the oats. They should be thick and creamy. Add a splash of milk if too thick.
  7. Top with sliced banana, peanut butter drizzle, chocolate chips, or chopped peanuts. Serve cold or microwave for 30-45 seconds for warm oats.

Notes

Use a very ripe banana with brown spots for natural sweetness. If using a new protein powder, start with ¾ scoop to test texture. Stir the oats again about an hour after mixing to prevent clumps. Oats taste even better on day 2.
