This sweet and savory baked feta dip combines tart cranberries, creamy feta, buttery pecans, and a hint of maple syrup for a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s perfect for cozy nights and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) fresh cranberries
  • 8 oz (225g) block feta cheese
  • 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup (75g) pecans, roughly chopped
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: fresh thyme, extra pecans, drizzle of honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take cream cheese out of the fridge to soften for about 20 minutes.
  2. Rinse fresh cranberries under cold water, pick through to remove any soft or shriveled ones, and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  3. Optional but recommended: Spread chopped pecans on a baking sheet and toast in the preheating oven for about 5 minutes until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary. Stir until well incorporated and smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across the bottom of a small baking dish (8×8 or 9×9 inch, or a 10-inch cast iron skillet).
  6. Crumble the block of feta into rough chunks and scatter over the cream cheese layer, leaving some pieces larger for texture.
  7. Scatter fresh cranberries and toasted pecans evenly over the feta.
  8. Drizzle maple syrup over the top without stirring.
  9. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper over the top.
  10. Bake for 18-22 minutes until feta is golden brown in spots, cranberries have burst and softened, and edges are bubbling.
  11. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes to set slightly.
  12. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves, extra toasted pecans, and a drizzle of honey if desired. Serve warm with crusty bread, crackers, pita chips, or sliced apples.

Notes

Don’t overmix the cream cheese. Watch the cranberries to avoid overbaking. Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Toasting nuts is recommended. Don’t skip the resting time. Make extra as it disappears fast.
