A quick and easy recipe for loaded bacon cheeseburgers cooked in the air fryer, ready in just 15 minutes. Juicy beef patties topped with crispy bacon and melty sharp cheddar cheese, served on toasted buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese (about 4 oz / 115 g)
  • 4 hamburger buns (brioche or classic white)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter (optional, for toasting buns)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it heat for about 3 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently without overworking.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a 3/4-inch thick patty. Press a slight dent in the center of each patty with your thumb.
  4. Place bacon slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 7–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  5. Place burger patties in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed). Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. About 1 minute before patties are done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the air fryer to melt the cheese.
  7. Spread softened butter on the insides of hamburger buns. Toast buns in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes until golden and slightly crisp.
  8. Assemble burgers by placing cheesy patties on toasted buns, topping with crispy bacon and optional toppings like lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
  9. Serve immediately while hot for the best melty and crispy experience.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness. Preheat the air fryer for best results. Check bacon early to avoid burning. For gluten-free, substitute buns with gluten-free buns or large lettuce leaves. For dairy-free, use a dairy-free cheese alternative.
