Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 2 oz Irish cream liqueur (such as Baileys)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (for whipped topping)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for whipped topping)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp chocolate syrup (optional, for drizzle)
  • Additional 1/4 cup heavy cream (for extra whipped topping)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for extra whipped topping)
  • Pinch of cocoa powder or cinnamon (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans with 4 cups filtered water in a large pitcher or mason jar. Stir gently and cover. Let steep at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  2. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean container. Discard grounds. Chill cold brew in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving.
  3. In a chilled bowl, combine 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 tbsp powdered sugar, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Whip with a mixer or whisk until soft peaks form (about 2โ€“3 minutes).
  4. Fill a large glass (16oz) halfway with ice cubes. Pour 8oz cold brew coffee over the ice.
  5. Add 2 oz Irish cream liqueur and stir gently. Drizzle with 1 tsp chocolate syrup if desired.
  6. Top with a generous spoonful of whipped topping. Sprinkle with a pinch of cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish.
  7. Insert a straw or long spoon and serve immediately.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute Irish cream liqueur with Irish cream syrup. Use decaf coffee for a caffeine-free drink. Whip cream just until soft peaks form for best texture. Cold brew can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 7 days. For a dessert twist, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream.
