A refreshing frozen margarita blending sweet strawberries with a mild jalapeño kick, perfect for summer gatherings and easy party batches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) frozen strawberries
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper, thinly sliced and seeded (adjust seeds for heat)
  • 1 1/2 cups (360ml) tequila blanco
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) fresh lime juice (about 6 large limes)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) agave syrup or simple syrup
  • 2 cups (480ml) ice cubes
  • Salt or Tajín for rimming glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice 1 medium jalapeño and remove seeds if milder spice is desired. Muddle slices gently in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice. Let sit for 5 minutes to infuse.
  2. Roll about 6 large limes on the counter and juice until you have 3/4 cup (180ml) fresh lime juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp.
  3. In a high-powered blender, combine frozen strawberries, muddled jalapeño with lime juice, tequila blanco, triple sec, agave syrup, and ice cubes.
  4. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth and slushy, scraping down sides as needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more agave syrup or heat by adding more jalapeño slices. Pulse briefly after additions.
  6. Optionally, rim glasses with lime wedges and dip in salt or Tajín.
  7. Serve immediately or store in a sealed pitcher in the freezer for up to 2 hours. Stir gently before serving if stored.

Notes

Do not overblend ice to avoid watering down the drink. Muddle jalapeño lightly to prevent bitterness. Use frozen strawberries for best texture. Fresh lime juice is essential for bright flavor. Adjust sweetness and heat gradually. Chill glasses ahead for extra refreshment. Store leftovers in freezer up to 2 hours and stir before serving.
