Flavorful Brown Sugar Glazed Ham and Swiss Sliders

These sliders combine sweet brown sugar glaze with savory ham and gooey Swiss cheese on soft dinner rolls, perfect for quick and crowd-pleasing game day snacks.

  • 12 soft slider rolls, split in half horizontally (preferably Hawaiian rolls)
  • 810 ounces thinly sliced deli ham or leftover cooked ham
  • 8 ounces sliced Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the slider rolls horizontally into a top and bottom half, keeping them connected if possible. Place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish in a single layer.
  3. Evenly distribute the sliced ham over the bottom halves of the rolls.
  4. Layer the Swiss cheese slices on top of the ham, covering as much surface as possible.
  5. Place the top halves of the rolls on the cheese layer gently.
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, melted unsalted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth and slightly thick.
  7. Brush the glaze generously over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to keep the sliders moist.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes until the tops are golden and slightly caramelized.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  11. Serve warm.

Notes

If rolls seem dry, brush extra melted butter before baking. For more tang, add extra Dijon mustard on ham layer. Can assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 6 hours before baking, adding extra baking time if cold. Use low-sodium ham and cheese for reduced sodium. Variations include adding hot sauce for spice or swapping cheeses.
