Ingredients

  • White sandwich bread, crusts removed (can use whole wheat or gluten-free)
  • Creamy peanut butter (about 1 tablespoon per slice)
  • Grape or strawberry jam (about 1 tablespoon per slice)
  • Butter or margarine, softened (optional, for extra richness and better seal)
  • Parchment paper or plastic wrap (for freezing and storing sandwiches)

Instructions

  1. Prep your workspace and ingredients: Lay out bread slices on a clean surface and carefully remove crusts with a sharp knife.
  2. Spread about 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Spread about 1 tablespoon of your favorite jam on half of the peanut butter-covered slices, leaving a 1/4 inch border near edges.
  4. Optionally, lightly spread softened butter on the other half of the slices for richer taste and better seal.
  5. Assemble sandwiches by placing jam-covered slices on top of the buttered or peanut butter-only slices, peanut butter side down, aligning edges carefully.
  6. Seal sandwiches using a sandwich sealer to crimp edges and cut into rounds. If using a cookie cutter, press down firmly to cut circles, then press edges with a fork to seal completely.
  7. Place sealed sandwiches on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer and freeze uncovered for about 1 hour until firm.
  8. Wrap each frozen sandwich individually in parchment paper or plastic wrap, then store in freezer-safe bags or airtight containers. Label with date and keep for up to 2 months.
