A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring crispy skin and caramelized lemon slices, perfect for busy weeknights and impressive dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Salmon fillets (skin-on, 6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (preferably extra virgin)
  • Salt to taste (sea salt or kosher salt recommended)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (dill or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the skin-on salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil, then sprinkle salt and pepper evenly. Add garlic powder if using. (5 minutes)
  2. Slice the lemon into thin, even slices about 1/8 inch thick. (2 minutes)
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it run empty for 3 minutes.
  4. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Arrange the lemon slices around the fish without overlapping. (1 minute)
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes. Check at 10 minutes; salmon should flake easily with a fork, skin should be crisp and golden, and lemon slices bubbly and caramelized but not burnt.
  6. Carefully remove salmon and lemons using tongs or a spatula. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Let salmon rest for 1-2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat salmon skin dry to ensure crispiness. Preheat air fryer for best results. Use thin lemon slices to caramelize evenly. If skin isn’t crispy enough, increase temperature slightly for last 2 minutes. To reheat leftovers, air fry at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to restore crispiness.
