These heart-shaped Buffalo Chicken Sliders are a fun, easy, and crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for parties, game days, or family gatherings. Packed with tangy Buffalo chicken, creamy cheese, and baked to golden perfection, they’re as adorable as they are delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing)
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter (about 3-inch size)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, Buffalo wing sauce, ranch dressing, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Mix well until everything is evenly blended. Use a hand mixer on low for about 1 minute or mash with a fork until creamy.
  3. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Slice each slider bun in half horizontally. Flatten rolls if needed for even cutting.
  5. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut heart shapes from each bun half, making 24 hearts (12 tops, 12 bottoms).
  6. Place bottom hearts on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of chicken filling onto each heart, spreading evenly but leaving a small border.
  8. Top with remaining heart-shaped bun halves. Press gently to hold together.
  9. Brush tops with melted butter.
  10. Bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 15-18 minutes, or until tops are golden and filling is hot and bubbly. Cover loosely with foil if tops brown too quickly.
  11. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  12. Transfer to a cooling rack or serving plate. Sprinkle with extra green onions or a drizzle of ranch if desired.

Notes

For less spice, use mild Buffalo sauce or add more ranch. Make ahead by prepping the filling up to 2 days in advance. Use gluten-free or dairy-free substitutes as needed. Save bread scraps for croutons or bread pudding. Air fryer or toaster oven can be used for small batches.
